For travelers heading north, traffic is backed up along I-75 as far south as Clark Road, according to the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office.

All southbound lanes are still closed north of the Fruitville Road exit. Deputies say traffic is backed up along I-75 well before University Parkway.

A large amount of concrete mix has spilled in the southbound travel lanes.

Commuters are still being asked to avoid I-75 if possible.
